Along with the Character design I will also be looking into how to get the finished models working in the Unity3D engine. One of the 1st objectives I have set myself is getting the main player into game and changing the games mechanics to a 3rd person style of play.
But before I start Using the engine I looked into some of the most resent games that had used a 3rd person point of view (POV).
FABLE III
Fable III uses a 3rd person camra thoughout the game ,this works best rather then 1st POV because of the intence and overwhelming combat play
SKYRIM
Towards the end of 2011 Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim which combines 1st POV and the opition to play as 3rd POV
Assassin’s creed revelations
Assassin’s creed revelations the follow up of AC: brotherhood uses an intense 3rd person experience style of play and pushes the cameras POV to its limits
The Unity 3D engine ....
Since I have focused my self Initiated purely on character design the unity scene will be kept basic as possibly. This scene will be mainly used for testing how the characters interact with the environment and each other within the Unity 3D engine.
One of the first tasks was to impalement the main character into the scene and check how he fits in with the surroundings. After attaching Unity’s standard character controller and 3rd person camera scripts it gave me a quick guide line on what was needed to be changed to give the main character more playability.
